Facts and Figures about Facebook

Here’s an amazing Facebook fact sheet from website-monitoring.com.

Having joined Facebook in the fall of 2005, I seriously had no idea it would get this big, or even be a site that I check in with daily.  I really find it amazing that the site has grown by 50 million users in the last 2 months, and by 100 million user in the last 6 months.  At this rate, that would mean that in 2 months from now facebook would be up to approximately 500 million users.  Wow!

The average facebook user has 130 friends and uses the site for almost an hour a day.

Out of curiosity in the comments below, I’d like to know (a) When did you start using facebook? (b) How many friends do you have?  (c) Do you check it daily?  For how long?

    I joined early 2005 and now have over 1,600 friends (600 of which are from my college days) and yes I check in daily, regarding time, it's usually always open in a second tab, so above your average user =)

    I joined Facebook my freshman year of college in August 2005. I have about 950 friends (less than 500 from college) and I check daily. I spend at least an hour a day and typically have it open in a tab SOMEWHERE if I'm on my computer. So you could say I'm on for hours and hours every day ;) Definitely fall into the category with mobile users – I definitely use FB way more now that I have it on my BlackBerry

    I joined Facebook a few months ago I had 180 friends 1.5 month ago and now I have 1,280 I am a people person so that might of explain the spike, regardless I like it…It's not just chatting it's keeping in touch and just to really know what's everybody up to.     Thanks so much for posting these Facebook facts, I really appreciate it and am fascinated at the same time. I've been using FB for about a year, only last few months have I setup a Fan Page and have begun (through TSA and some other groups/tools) to use FB to promote my business of helping couples and singles bring the passion back to their lives. I've got around 1700 friends and around 600 fans. Would love suggestions on how to convert more friends to fans. And I spend a good half hour/day on FB at the least, I'd say.
